Selection Guidance
Choose the Right Display for Your Product
A TFT LCD display should not be selected based only on screen size. The display must be compatible with the final equipment’s controller, mechanical enclosure, lighting environment, touch requirements, and operating conditions. We can evaluate these requirements together before a display configuration is finalized.
Display Size, Resolution & Viewing Angle
TFT LCD displays are available in different dimensions, resolutions and aspect ratios for compact embedded products through larger industrial interfaces.
IPS options are suitable for applications requiring wider viewing angles and more consistent image performance from different viewing positions.
TN TFT configurations are also available when they are better suited to the project requirements.
Round, square and bar-type displays can support equipment designs where conventional rectangular screens do not fit the required user interface or mechanical layout.
High-Brightness TFT Display for Outdoor Visibility
Displays used outdoors or under strong light often require more than a standard backlight.
Selected high-brightness TFT LCD Display are available with brightness levels of up to 2,000 nits.
For demanding viewing conditions, high brightness can be combined with optical enhancements such as:
- Optical bonding
- Anti-reflection treatment
- Anti-glare treatment
- UV-Cut optical materials
- Cover lens optimization
The final optical stack can be selected based on the actual operating environment rather than relying solely on higher brightness.
TFT LCD Interface Integration
Available TFT LCD interface options include:
MCU · RGB · LVDS · MIPI · eDP · SPI · QSPI · HDMI
The correct interface depends on the LCD panel, processor, resolution, data bandwidth and system architecture.
For projects where the existing interface is not directly compatible with the display interface, we can also evaluate interface conversion and controller board integration.
This allows the display interface and control functions to be developed together rather than treated as separate components.
Board-level options may include:
- LVDS / eDP / HDMI / VGA conversion
- OSD functions
- PWM / DC backlight dimming
- Brightness adjustment
- Firmware adapted to customer specifications
- Color temperature and Gamma adjustment
Custom Engineering
Custom TFT LCD Display Solutions
We support custom TFT LCD display development from display components to integrated display units.
Rather than requiring customers to coordinate the display, touch panel, cover lens, electronics, and mechanical parts separately, these elements can be evaluated as a complete system.
From Components to a Complete Display Unit
A project can include the TFT LCD module, touch panel, cover lens, optical bonding, controller / interface board, cable and mechanical frame — engineered as one assembly so your team manages a single validated display unit instead of multiple component suppliers.
- Custom cable and connector design — length, connector configuration, power / signal / USB, shielded, flex-, heat- and oil-resistant options
- Custom frame & mechanical integration — SECC / aluminium / resin structures, screw / bracket / snap-fit mounting, logo printing or engraving
- Equipment-specific mounting design so the assembly fits smoothly into the final enclosure
TFT LCD Display Customization
Display configurations can be selected or developed based on:
- Screen size
- Resolution
- Brightness
- Viewing angle
- Interface
- Display shape
- Backlight requirements
- Operating environment
The goal is to match the TFT LCD Display to the final equipment rather than designing the equipment around an unsuitable standard display.
Touch Screen Integration
We support several touch technologies for TFT LCD Display assemblies:
- PCAP capacitive touch
- RTP resistive touch
- EM Digitizer
- Touch-controller integration
- Glove touch
- Wet-operation solutions
- 1–10 point multi-touch configurations
Touch performance can be evaluated together with the cover lens, surface treatment and operating environment.
Custom Cover Lens
The cover lens can be customized to meet both functional and aesthetic requirements.
Available options include:
- Chemically strengthened glass
- PMMA
- PC
- Soda-lime glass
- Custom thickness
- Custom dimensions
- Holes
- Radius corners
- Cut-outs
- Black-mask printing
- Logo printing
- Decorative printing
Cover lens thickness can be selected based on project requirements, with available material options ranging from approximately 0.3 mm to 6 mm.
Impact-resistance requirements can also be evaluated for projects requiring different IK protection levels.
Surface & Optical Treatments
Available material and surface engineering options include:
- AG – Anti-Glare
- AR – Anti-Reflection
- AF – Anti-Fingerprint
- Hard Coat
- UV Cut
- IR Cut
- NIR-related optical control
- Functional printing
- Light-blocking and transmission control
These treatments can be combined based on readability, durability, appearance, and environmental requirements.
Optical Bonding
Optical Bonding for TFT LCD Display
Optical bonding eliminates the air gap between the display, touch panel or cover lens by using an optically clear bonding material. For industrial, outdoor, and high-reliability applications, optical bonding can improve both optical performance and structural durability.
| Air Bonding | Optical Bonding | |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Air gap between layers | Fully bonded structure |
| Reflection | Higher internal reflection | Reduced internal reflection |
| Readability | More affected by ambient light | Improved outdoor visibility |
| Integration | Simple & cost-effective | Thinner & more integrated |
Optical bonding is not automatically required for every TFT LCD Display.
The bonding structure should be selected based on the display environment, product construction, and reliability requirements.
Bonding Materials
OCA & OCR Optical Bonding Options
We support both OCA and OCR optical bonding. The appropriate material is selected based on the display structure, optical performance requirements, reliability requirements and manufacturing process.
OCA Optical Bonding
OCA is an optically clear adhesive film used between display layers.
Typical advantages include:
OCA is particularly suitable for flat, uniform display structures where the lamination process can be precisely controlled.
- High optical transparency
- Low haze
- Stable bonding thickness
- Good reliability
- Suitable for touch panel and cover lens bonding
- Available in outdoor-oriented material configurations
OCR Optical Bonding
OCR is a liquid optically clear resin that fills the bonding area and is then cured.
It can be considered for applications requiring:
OCR can provide greater process flexibility for bonded structures that are difficult to accommodate with film-type adhesives alone.
- Strong gap filling
- Complex structures
- High vibration resistance
- High impact resistance
- Better step absorption
- High environmental reliability
Optical Bonding Process Control
Reliable optical bonding depends on more than just the adhesive material.
We manage the process around the complete bonding stack, including:
- Material and specification confirmation
- Cleaning and dust removal
- OCA lamination or OCR dispensing
- Positioning and alignment
- Defoaming / curing
- Display, touch, optical and appearance inspection
The objective is to ensure consistent and repeatable bonding quality from prototype validation through mass production.
Key process controls include:
- Cleanliness
- Temperature
- Time
- Pressure
- Particle Contamination Control
- Alignment accuracy
- Bubble and void prevention
- UV or curing conditions
- Inspection records
